It's fitting that this is on display at Ft. Monmouth, which was the home of the U S Army Satcom Agency. USASA was the initial developer and program management office for development of this particular system, the AN/TSC-54. Only the antenna is shown, a small equipment shelter and trailer mounted generators were also part of the system.

I was Maintenance Sergeant on serial number 11 at Utapao AB which went to Djakarta Indonesia providing support to White House Communication during President Nixon’s world tour following the Apollo moon landing.

I was a senior instructor at the school in the mid 70s. Fine system and was easy to maintain. We have a similar system here at ft gordon and with the comm shelter.
