Sedalia Katy Depot Railroad Heritage Exhibit (Birds Eye)
The Sedalia Katy Depot, one of the largest depots between Kansas City and St. Louis, was built in 1896 by the Missouri Kansas Texas Railway (Katy). Today, the building is owned by the Department of Natural Resources and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The exterior of the Depot was restored in 1998 to its original beauty and the interior renovation was completed in 2001. The Depot houses the offices of both the Chamber of Commerce, Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Depot Store.

The Railroad Heritage Exhibits were opened June 28, 2003. The unique design of the individual exhibits represent the ways in which the railroads significantly influenced our community. Graphic panels, exhibit cases and an av presentation are designed to be a self guided experience.
