Work began on the site of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2007. It opened to the public in May 2010.
The Hall honors the greatest drivers and most influential people in stock car racing history. In addition to displaying items from the history of the sport, it features a theater, racing simulators, interactive exhibits, restaurants, gift shops, and media studios.
