Description:This historic Portland 'Old Town' neighborhood building has a portrait of 'Packy' the elephant on its north face. He lives at the nearby Oregon zoo. At the time, he was the first Asian elephant born in the Western Hemisphere in 44 years. Now he's the lead bull of the zoo's herd and has sired 7 offspring of his own. The famed Portland 'Saturday Market' featuring handcrafted wares is held in the parking lots surrounding the building (and beneath the Burnside bridge) on weekends through much of the year. Some of the vendors' tents are visible in the Local Live thumbnail image.
