Slaaenhøj Jættestue (Passage Grave)

Just north of the town of Kalundborg on the Danish island of Zealand are the remains of an impressive Neolithic passage grave - one of many in the area. The grave is located in a field, next to a dirt track and near some houses. The grave is two entrances and chambers. The mound that once covered the chambers has been damaged due to ploughing now exposing the chambers. One chamber and entrance still contains all its stones. The other entrance is still covered, but the chamber stones have been removed only leaving a ditch of where the stones once stood that formed the chamber. The site is a registered historical monument and protected.

The grave is thought to have been constructed between 3950 BC - 2801 BC.
