"Smoky Cape Lighthouse" by James Barnet (StreetView)
Smoky Cape Lighthouse is one of the last major lighthouse complexes designed by the New South Wales colonial architect of the time, James Barnet, who created most of NSW’s late Victorian lighthouses and was one of Australia's last lighthouses to be designed for architectural excellence. It is located on Smoky Cape which was named on 13 May 1770, by Captain Cook, its name inspired by the smoke from Aboriginal burn-off fires on the headland.
