The South African Police Memorial was unveiled by Mr. P.W. Botha, DMS, State President of the Republic of South Africa, on 17 October 1984.
From the plaque:
"On this Roll of Honour apprears the names of those members of the South African Police, who according to available records, died in the execution of their duty for South Africa and it's peoples. We honour thier memory."
