Stuart M. Sloan is the founder of Sloan Capital Companies, a Seattle-based private investment company, and was formerly Chairman and CEO of Quality Food Centers, a supermarket chain. QFC went public in 1997, was sold to Fred Meyer in 1997 and Kroger acquired Fred Meyer and QFC in 1998. Since then Stuart has been a philanthropist with a focus on reforming inner city elementary schools. One of his major beneficiary projects is Seattleā€™s T. T. Minor public school. Sloan serves on the board of J. Crew, Pendrell, and Anixter International. He previously served on the Boards of Directors of Rite Aid and Clearwire.
