Subaru Baja

Subaru Baja

Saratoga Springs, New York (NY), US
The Subaru Baja, produced from July 2002 to April 2006, was a coupe utility based on the Legacy and Outback produced at the time. Named for Mexico's Baja California peninsula, where the Baja 1000 off-road race is held, it was marketed as a "Multiple-choice vehicle", relating to the versatility the vehicle offers. Unfortunately, only over 30,000 were sold over the course of 4 and a half years resulting from limited advertising, and the public being turned off by its design, and even though a turbocharged model arrived for the 2004 model year, the damage to its sales had been done, so it was technically doomed to flop from the start. Before production ended, Subaru gathered several 2006 Bajas for dealers, with sales being reported as late as February 2008.
