The Rocky Gorge Reservoir, created by the construction of the T. Howard Duckett Dam, is 9.5 miles long, encompasses more than 800 acres of water and is 120 feet deep. The 840-foot long concrete dam was constructed for $3 million between 1952-1954 and has seven gates that can be opened individually to release water.
