Tammie Jo Shults was the captain of Southwest Airlines Flight 1380. The Boeing 737-700 experienced an explosive failure of the port side engine. Shrapnel pierced the fuselage causing depressurization. The pilots made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport. One passenger died and at least seven had minor injuries. Captain Shults is being hailed for having "nerves of steel".
