Tamu Massif is an inactive submarine shield volcano located in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. It is the largest volcano on Earth and 2nd largest after Olympus Mons on Mars, the largest in the solar system. Its summit lies about 6,500 feet (2,000 m) below the surface of the ocean.
