The present mausoleum was completed in October Juche 83(1994).
It comprises of 1,994 blocks of granite with nine tiers and covers an area of 45 hectares. The Monument to the Rennovated Mausoleum of Tangun and Monument to the Record of Tangun present a magnificent view. The gateway columns are smoothed ancient-style menhirs.
The stairs are 40m wide. Along the stairs stand the eight stone statues of Tangun's close ministers and his four sons. The statues stand according to their ranks.
The pyramid-style mausoluem is 50m each in height and in width and length on the bottom. The top is square with a passage in the back. One side of the burial chamber is 5.7m long and 4.8m high in order for the view of ten persons. The remains of Tangun and his wife are preserved in the chamber.
The four Korean tiger stone statues and four dagger towers stand on the four corners of the mausoleum. The dagger was the symbolic weapon of Kojoson.
