This was the home used for the 1979 horror classic "The Amityville Horror", starring James Brolin, Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger. This home was also used in some of the sequels.

That's the original house, which they did not use. It was this house in Toms River but since then it was moved from it original location and looks different

The outside scenes for the film were filmed in Toms River. I remember driving by there when they were filming. There was a lot of equipment out in the yard at the time - I seem to remember seeing some big fans. After filming was done, the house was rebuilt, so it doesn't look anything like in the movie anymore.
