The Boar's Head

The Boar's Head (StreetView)
Boar's Head, Wigan, has been serving beer since 1271. The pub features in the Domesday Book. During the 15th century it was the overnight inn for prisoners being transported to Lancaster Prison. It survived intact whilst the English Civil War Battle of Wigan Lane was taking place next door. Famous visitors have included Frank Randle and Diana Dors.
