This memorial is dedicated to the Brigade of Gurkhas and is known as "The Gurkha Soldier". It was unveiled by Queen Elizabeth in 1997 and is the first Gurkha memorial in the United Kingdom. The sculptor was Philip Jackson and the bronze statue is seven feet tall. The original, from which this is mostly copied, is located in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London.
