In the 2009 movie "Whip It", Ellen Page's character Bliss works as a waitress at the Oink Joint diner.

The building has an interesting history, as it was built in 1955 in Yorkville, New York, where it was known as the Varsity Diner. In 1992, the building was purchased and moved to this location in Michigan, where it operated as Ken's Diner. After filming for the movie completed in 2008, it was purchased by David and Ann Rheaume, who kept the name Oink Joint used in the film.
