The ferryboat San Diego was built in 1931 for the San Diego and Coronado Ferry Company. Retired from service in 1969, she wandered about Northern California for many years as a houseboat. Plans to rehabiliate her as a restaurant or museum never quite came to fruitition. Some time in 2008 she was beached and abandoned here on the shore of Decker Island, near Antioch.
