Description:Here in the house where Thomas Lord, founder of Lord’s Cricket Ground, was born in 1755, you’ll find eight rooms full of local history, including the infamous Busby Stoop Chair. We also provide a wide range of services, particularly for schools, and there’s a thriving Museum Society too.

Thirsk Museum is in Kirkgate, just across the road from The World of James Herriot. We’re open to the public from Easter to the end of October, and parking for cars and coaches is available nearby. Come and see what we have to offer!
