Former Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas (born April 15, 1974) is seen here in an advertisement for Bauer.
In 1997, after finishing four years of playing at the University of Vermont, Thomas began a tumultuous pro career by spending years bouncing around from team-to-team in the North American minor leagues and stints in Finland and Sweden. He made his NHL debut in 2002, but he did not earn a permanent NHL roster spot until 2005.
Within a few years, he became an All-Star caliber goaltender, and won the league's best goaltender award (Vezina Trophy) in 2009 and 2011.
