Tori Amos' House

Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos; on August 22, 1963 in Newton, North Carolina) is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, composer, and record producer. She has received eight Grammy nominations.

At five, she began training at the Peabody Institute, but was asked to leave at age 11. She went on to win a Baltimore Orioles-sponsored contest with her original song "Baltimore" that later became her first single. After moving to Los Angeles, Amos created her own group, Y Kant Tori Read, and the band released its first album in 1988. Her debut album as a soloist was "Little Earthquakes". Her follow-up, "Under the Pink", landed at number 12 on the charts, and her third album, "Boys for Pele", reached number two. From 1992 to 2014, Amos has released 14 studio albums, including "Strange Little Girls", "American Doll Posse", "Abnormally Attracted to Sin" and 'Unrepentant Geraldines". Her best-known singles include "Silent All These Years", "Crucify", "Caught a Lite Sneeze", "1000 Oceans" and "A Sorta Fairytale". She has sold more than 12 million albums around the world and is an eight-time Grammy Award nominee.

Despite owning this beach house in Florida, Amos and her husband, Mark Hawley, consider their home in Cornwall to be their headquarters, where they spend about nine months of the year. Amos and her husband have been married since 1998. Their only child, a daughter, Natashya "Tash" Lórien Hawley, was born on September 5, 2000, a few weeks after Tori's 37th birthday.

Amos has written about her rape by a fan and the miscarriages she suffered before her daughter's birth. In 1994 she co-founded RAINN, the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network, a 24-hour hotline in the United States, which helps victims of sexual abuse.
