This historical four story building was built in 1882 and was designed by architect Henry C. Koch. It contains a large ballroom, a bar and restaurant, and athletic facilities. Activities in the building include indoor rock climbing, gymnastics, fencing, and yoga. The ballroom has a stage on one end and is used as a concert venue throughout the year.
The building is designated as a National Historic Landmark, is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, and is a local Historical Landmark. Fires damaged the building in 1933 and 1941, causing the building to be mainly inactive for over 70 years. Renovation work in 2004-06 has given the old building new life.
