Twenty mile wide rings

Canadian Forces Base Suffield. Simulated combat operations take place here. I can't find a definitive reason for the rings though. On close examination the rings are not a smooth circle and seem to be made of roads.

These seem to be much larger and not similar to the bomb target rings seen in the US SW. Though they are a bit similar to the chemical warfare test grids found in Utah.
