From Installation Action Plan for the Sierra Army Depot, p. 44:

The Unidentified Pit is located in the southwest
portion of the installation outside the
installation access control fence. This pit,
approximately 100 feet in diameter, was
observed during a helicopter flight in 1989.
The pit was probably used as a stock tank
to supply cattle with water. A shallow trench
leads from the pit to Honey Lake.
