Four time Indy 500 winning driver Al Unser, Sr. and his wife Susan opened this motorsports museum in 2005. It not only showcases the story of the racing Unser family, but also features various exhibits from other forms of racing.
The museum was once an office building, which was purchased and renovated at a cost of $9 million. Unlike other automotive museums, the cars are not roped off, allowing visitors a closer view of the exhibits. Many displays feature an informative electronic kiosk.
Six different Unsers have raced in the Indy 500. Al, his brothers Jerry and Bobby, his son Al Jr., and his nephews Johnny and Robby.
