Originally planned to carry a railway linking Bussang and Urbes in France back in 1935, the bridge never ended construction. The embankments, on both sides, and the three arched bridge stood abandoned and unfinished. Plans were then planned to build a bypass. The embankments were demolished to serve as the foundations of the bypass, leaving the bridge standing in the middle of nowhere. Today the bridge stands in the middle of a field, never used and never completed.
