Villa Altana (Arthur Weisweiller Estate)

Arthur Weisweiller († 1941) was a French banker and financier. His father, Charles Weisweiller, was one of the most influential French bankers at the turn of the century (Banque Charles Weisweiller). His great uncle, Daniel Bernhard Weisweiller, directed the affairs of the Rothschild family in Spain.

Arthur Weisweiller was married to Betty Deutsch de la Meurthe. The Deutsch de la Meurthe family was one of the wealthiest French families at the time and known for its patronage in philanthrophy and technology (aviation, oil industry). Betty was killed by the Nazis in the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1943.
