Villa des Cygnes was built by famed architect Addison Mizner in 1922. The estate was built for then Philadelphia Mayor Barclay Warburton.

The property is now owned by the widow of metals industrialist, the founder and CEO of Macalloy Corp, Norris McFarlane.
