Description:The 2-and-a-half ton teardrop-shaped granite monument is engraved with the names of the 114 people who died and with a brief description of the tragedy .


The memorial has been placed near the center of the heaviest damage caused by the tornado, which cut through the heart of downtown Waco causing $57 million in property damage.
