War Memorial FFI Chidrac

This memorial commemorates the Frenchman Emile Jacob, the Portuguese Avelino de Queiros and the Polak Stephane Starawscki. These three men were members of the Forces Françaises de l'Intérieur, the French Forces of the Interior. This organization was a kind of army which consisted of former resistance fighters. On August 24, 1944 those partisans were killed here in a combat with a German convoy. At the site of the battle, this monument was placed, on this monument are the names of the victims.
