The present Waterloo Bridge was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott and was opened in December 1945. It spans the River Thames, in central London, from Somerset House on the north bank to the National Theatre on the south bank of the river. Located on a bend in the river there are stunning views of London from the bridge. The 370 metre long bridge is Grade II* listed.
