Wayne Manor did not burn down. Early reports by fire officials in 2005 erroneously ID'd a fire-gutted mansion as the building used in the Batman TV series. One of several links I found to confirm this...

I thought the originaL Wayne manor was in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. It had originally been Nat King Cole's house..........hmmmmmm.

The reports of Paul McCartney buying this place turned out to be untrue. The owner (since 1999) is still Robert Friendland, President of Kittrich Corp. http://investing.businessweek.com/research/stocks/private/person.asp?personId=28363063&privcapId=4436084&previousCapId=4436084&previousTitle=Kittrich%20Corporation
