The city of Viking, Alberta, honours its most famous citizens on the welcome sign located on the edge of town.

The sign, shaped like a hockey stick and puck, mentions the Sutter family. At least one of six brothers (Brent, Brian, Darryl, Duane, Rich and Ron) played in the NHL between 1976-2001. Four of the brothers became NHL coaches or general managers after hanging up the skates.

Two second-generation Sutters have also played in the NHL - Brandon and Brett.
