Description: Years ago, it was against federal regulations to directly connect interstates and toll roads. While that rule has subsequently been eliminated -- Pennsylvania has never been able to directly connect I-70 to the Turnpike due to pressure from local business owners who make revenue of travelers. Thus traffic on I-70 must travel through two red lights on US 30 to/from the Turnpike.
