Yorkshire Air Museum at former RAF Elvington was first opened in on 31 May 1986. Exhibits in open air include Handley Page Victor K.2 (XL231), Handley Page Herald, Gloster Javelin FAW.9 (XH767), English Electric Canberra T.4 (WH846) and Douglas C-47 Dakota 4 (XF747). Highlight on the inside is Handley Page Halifax II (HR792). Spitfire and Hurricane that can be seen on the map between buildings are possibly replicas.
