Used to be "The Money Store."

Six hundred concrete piles were driven for the foundation of the structural steel pyramid. The frame incorporates the latest in seismic dampening technology utilizing large viscous "shock absorbers" at strategic connections.

The exterior is clad in Minnesota limestone and a high performance glass which has a special beige dot matrix coating that matches the color of the limestone. This coating provides a color continuity with the stone from the exterior and serves to break up the strong Sacramento sun which will flood the 4-story atrium/lobby in the summer months. There is a concealed mechanical penthouse, a parking garage in the basement which has additional mechanical space, a full-service cafeteria and a data center.

The entire building was designed in accordance with the traditional rules of the Chinese philosophy of Feng Shui. The atrium ceiling is domed and features intricate detail work and exquisite painting creating an illusion of openness.

Good find on the background of this building. It is truly unique. You can get a great view of it in Old Sacramento across the river.
