Zsa Zsa Gabor's House (Demolished)

Los Angeles, California (CA), US
The Hungarian-born American actress and socialite lived here. Records show that the starlet bought this house in Bel Air way back in 1973 for just $245,000, remaining in residence for more than 40 years. Although she often said the decadent Hollywood Regency-style abode had been commissioned by Howard Hughes, it’s believed he only leased the place sometime in the late 1960s. Gabor also claimed that the residence was once occupied by Elvis Presley.

The house was first put on the market in 2012 for $14.9 Million by Gabor and her husband Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt. Anhalt said they were putting it on the market to help pay Gabor's medical bills, as she had just undergone a leg amputation. The house was sold for $11 Million in 2013, but the buyer allowed the pair to stay on for the remainder of Gabor's life, as long as they paid a $325,000 yearly fee.
After Gabor's death in 2016 Anhalt was forced by the owners to move out of the house. The owners never moved in and ended up selling the house a year later in 2017 for a $1 Million loss at $10 Million. The house was sold again in 2018 for $20.8 Million.

In 2020 the home was sold for $16 Million to it's current owner, Singapore-based diamond and precious metal mogul Robert Friedland, the founder of Ivanhoe Mines and a Forbes-listed billionaire. Friedland demolished the house in 2021.
