I looked at Islander photos at airliners.net and there seems to be two variants of the shape of wingtips. Some seem to correspondent to the threesides view you linked and some look a little more angular, they seem in fact to follow the dotted line shown in that view. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0995331/M/
Helio Courier is a rare bird in Europe. Shape and size is about right for Britten-Norman Islander but I'm not sure if I can make out two engines and shape of nose is somewhat unclear too. Anyway tail and wings look about right and RAF and British Army have been using Islanders, so it's a distinct possibility.
This one is outside the Humbrol factories, producers of aircraft models (Airfix) and modellers paints. Wonder if they used those little tins of paint on this one...
I think he fuselage of the aircraft is too thin to be A-7. This becames noticeable when you take the original Google Map and enlarge it 200 or even 400 % of the original size. Then that blunt nose also starts look like an illusion. In enlargement the nose looks longer although it's really hard to be sure given the small original size of the picture. Still my money is not on A-7 although it might not be a Gnat either.
Thanks, I have been trying to find interesting static targets lately although I can't resist good ship or an aeroplane now and then even if it might fly or sail away in the next Google Maps update. You might also have noticed that I'm somewhat anglophile...
Its probably Canberra T.17 (WH665), pictures here: http://www.bywat.co.uk/wh665.html
Small aircraft fuselage near might be BAC Jet Provost although I have not found any information on surviving examples at Filton.
Looks like Bristol Blenheim to me or in fact Canadian built version called Bristol Bolingbroke (the only complete Blenheim is in Finland, all other survivors are Bolingbrokes, excluding a few wrecks).
These are mostly DC-9s and Boeing 727s of Avensa which went bankrupt due to poor management in 2002. It has since been financially restructured and continues with a much smaller fleet. Picture here: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0489521/M/
This so called Maiden's Tower was built 1n the 12th century by the Byzantine emperor Manuel Komnenos. It has served as a prison and a lighthouse and is a source of many legends. The tower was featured in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough.
Yes, there are over 700,000 of them. Most of them are like these, little more than pillboxes, see some of the pictures here: http://noel.feld.cvut.cz/~horcik/albania/
...and do some googling.
Was Soviet base during the cold war with the 515. Fighter Regiment with MiG-29S, MiG-29UB, one of its three squadrons was a special nuclear-bomber one, and an Army helicopter regiment with Mi-8/24, and a transport regiment.
No road merges onto it because it's a railroad. If you follow it south, you'll se that it joins the main railroad line here in Sacile: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=45.950538,12.508407&spn=0.004897,0.006350&t=k&hl=en
And my road atlas of Italy (1:400 000) has also helped here ;-)
This is Safdarjang Airport, formerly known as Willingdon Airfield, and used by light aviation and helicopters. There have been plans to redevelop the site.
It most likely is USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) as its homeport is Everett, Washington and homeport is the most likely place to find certain ship when it is not on active deployment somewhere.
This is Hyvinkää airport which served as main international airport of Finland 1944-47 when Helsinki-Malmi was reserved for exclusive use of the Allied Control Commission.
I have found varying information about the exact test site. Some references locate it here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=41.313400,88.601990&spn=0.452705,0.380299&t=k&hl=en
