The Temple of Hera II (sometimes called the Temple of Neptune), is a Greek temple in Paestum, Campania, Italy. The name Temple of Neptune is a misnomer from the 18th century, even though, it was actually dedicated to the goddess Hera. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage site.

I was stationed at Beale AFB for a few years and worked with this aircraft. Seeing it take off was really quite awesome, but there are other things about it that amazed me as well, such as the very basic nature of the avionics, really not at all "high tech". An interesting note, whenever we did things with this jet on the ramp, there would be a tent over the open cockpit. This tells me what we thought (think) the resolution of intel sats are.

Another interesting thing:...

jbottero pictureManeki-neko
The maneki-neko is a common Japanese figurine (lucky charm, talisman), usually made of ceramic in modern times, which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. The figurine depicts a cat (traditionally a calico Japanese Bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed—often at the entrance—in shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, and other businesses. Some of the sculptures are electric or battery-powered and have a slow-moving paw beckoning. The maneki-neko is...

The fighters will fly into the local pattern, in preparation to land,in formation. But normally you don't land side-by-side (though I have seen it).

So, they fly in formation, and one peels off, banks around, and lines up to land.
