A race about to begin in the yahoo view.

In birds-eye-view, you can see much of the grandstand area has been torn down and weeds have taken over much of the infield. About 4 years after it's final race, tire marks can still be seen in each pit stall.

City Hall is seen in Live Local as a $60-70 million restoration project is underway. Scaffolding surrounds much of the building in this map.

In bird's eye view, the track is undergoing reconstruction towards it's new, faster layout (summer of 2006).

In Live Local, the 2005 Cinderella design is still visible in the spring of 2006.

My only experience with this location is dropping off a friend for ROTC training back in 1989. I have no idea how long the Reserves have been using this facility. Interesting to learn this was a missile site.

The Milwaukee Mile claims to be the oldest, continually operating motor speedway in the world (since 1903).

It also began as a horse track... as a private track around 1876, and purchased by the state in 1891.
