These are part of the Baba Bhit district of Kiamari Town. Apparently this is made up of Baba Island and Bhit Island. Traveljournals.net's coords nail this one as Bhit Island, with Baba Island to the north.
What's interesting is that Pak govt says there are supposed to be 3 islands here, but there only appear to be 2. The missing one is Shamspir Island, which traveljournals.net doesn't have either.
The islands are fishing communities, decrepit, and have water supply...
Quite likely this is the Japan Turbine Technolgies (a joint Japan Air and Pratt&Whitney venture) repair facility in Narita. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narita
I'm pretty convinced these are moorings -- a concrete slab dropped to the bottom with a rope tied to a bouy on the surface. Note there are some with boats attached. They make no ripples, even with clearly visible waves and wakes in the area. (The ones to the east do seem to have some sort of effect on the surface waves, though.) The two moving boats don't seem highly concerned about avoiding them, making it unlikely they are at or near the surface.
The LL thumbnail shows the mayor's office. Can you tell where it is? That's one of the things that rock about this design. Instead of the purpose being forced to fit the building, the building was designed to fit the purpose.
I remember seeing videos of robotic forklifts etc. at a Family Day at the main plant when I was a child. My grandfather was a quality control tester for jet engine parts at the Lynn plant for many years (Building 74). The GE is a major employer in town, though this has dwindled in recent years; most residents have or know someone close who has worked at the plant.
These fields are apparently sold by the owners for advertising from the air. Check LL imagery for this and for the neighboring field (which in GM says "News 3" and in LL says "SRP").
I gotta say, after trekking down here to snap the pics, that it was a considerable anticlimax for what is now an internationally famous building (if only for 15 minutes). There is no higher ground in the area from which to get a shot of the roof, unfortunately.
This place is like a freaking fortress. Only decent place to take a picture from is driving up 148th. Although there may be a walking trail along the edge.
Note that three of the sides are Xed out and abandoned, yet the west side is neatly maintained, despite no paved road to the strip. Note also the ends of the strip bend off to a taxiway that isn't there. There appears to be a navaid in the center of the west strip.
Note also that the current thumbnail has been rotated counterclockwise 90 degrees.
For the record, Sea-Tac is not in Federal Way, despite the fact that the Commons Mall (which is on the southeast corner) was until recently called SeaTac Mall.

It may be Fauro, accg to http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/australia/solomon_islands_pol89.jpg

This is the Ar-Rawdatayn Oil Field. Depending on when the sat was taken, it appears this field did have a major fire in late 2001 or early 2002: http://solutions.synearth.net/2002/02/08

Concur. The color of the "surrounding objects" are very grey, like froth. There does seem to be a single small boat to the southeast of it (between it and the other freighter), but the pattern of the surrounding imagery is too irregular to be boats. Why would boats of differing size and shape but identical color surround a boat?
There are an awful lot of boats in this river... but then again, it's one of the most major rivers of Earth's history.
Perhaps the most popular casino in the south sound area, it is a favorite spot for tax-free cigarettes and legal fireworks. It is also the favorite scapegoat, along with other tribal casinos, of tax crusader Tim Eyman and other initiative pushers, who routinely insist that the limited autonomy of these minute, underdeveloped reservations is unfair to businesses and taxpayers.
Walla Walla College is a Seventh-Day Adventist school, and arguably the second best college in southwestern WA, with many non-SDA students. It is not actually in the city of Walla Walla, having been built outside city limits, and the town of College Place incorporated around the college afterwards.
Reflective of the SDA lifestyle, the town of College Place and the college itself are almost entirely caffeine and meat free. The notable exception is the Wal-Mart, built within the...
The Umatilla reservation is completely dry; even the casino has no alcohol and guests are asked not to bring or use any alcohol on the res. They do have plenty of free caffeine though and a good brunch. A popular trucker stop for northeastern Oregon.
Honestly I don't know if this and the other two Macau government buildings should be Government-Local or Government-National-Foreign. Macau is not independent but it has much autonomy.
Note that the bridges to the landing strip are not roads but taxiways. The planes land on the strip, and then drive over the water to the terminal on the main island.
Accg. to Mapquest, the greater green area south of the park is the Plänterwald. Which means that this amusement park is almost certianly the Spreepark Plänterwald, a "Freizeit und Familienpark" which Babelfish translates to 'spare time and family park'. :)
The bad news is, apparently, der Spreepark ist geschlossen (er, closed) since 2001.
I was about to disagree with dda too, but now I think he's right. Upping the gamma of the image still shows the black spots as pure black while all other shadow and dark sections are lightened. This suggests use of pure RGB black in the digital form of the imagery (before compression; there are minor artifacts visible in the black at gamma +7).
The only other explanation would be that the shadows left by the walls of the bridges and ramps are intensely darker than the shadows...
Note that this was taken during the Needle's 40th Anniversary, when it was repainted with an orange roof as it was during the 1962 World's Fair. Normally, the roof is white.
Doubtful, I don't see any indication of oil production or of fire. The nearby land looks like farmland. Being so far inland, an oil field would need a pipeline to transport the oil to the coast.
Hybrid mode and other maps say this is Saudi Arabia. Nearest town is Turayf (or Turaif depending on the romanization) in Saudi Arabia. I could find no indication of any installations or settlements here. This area is generally oil-rich.
If you follow the strong northeast trail, you'll see it come to a stop at a similar node, with new trails running nearly parallel going NW-SE. The line just to the NE of these trails is the border between Saudi and Iraq (kinda odd that you can SEE...
The helipad in the middle of the former field is supposedly still active, though. The un-redeveloped land is now maintained by the city parks division.

I think it's just an angled roof, not a pyramid. Unfortunately only pic I can find of the place is a tiny cellphone wallpaper on their website.

After that I can make out J ?? 5 M.C. The 5 M.C. would presumably be MHz, indicating a frequency of something else. JIP? JIB? JID?
Use of "K.C." and "M.C." would seem to make it a pretty antiquated marking.

In fact, it's a very special prison that makes parade floats at all.
In fact, the idea is just plain scary.
