tlp333: Pics and Stories
tlp333 has submitted Pics and Stories for 20 maps.
Vern Fleming's Home (former):
| | Vern was always one of my favorite players back when I used to go to a lot of Pacer games in the late 80's and early 90's. From what I always heard, Vern was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Checking out his digs was one of the things I looked forward to the most on my small tour of Indy celeb homes that day. |
Tony Gwynn's Home:
| | This is the suburban Indianapolis home of the professional baseball player. His wife is from the area. The day I drove by and took this picture (July 2007), it appeared the home was for sale. |
Scott Goodyear's Home:
| | This is the Carmel, IN home of the former race car driver from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. He ran the IRL and Champ Car series during his career from 1987 to 2001, winning the Michigan 500 in 1992 and 1994. He is most known for almost winning the Indy 500 three times. Scott Goodyear was inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame in 2002. As a side note, he wasn't happy about me taking a picture of his home. He followed me in his convertible Mercedes and asked me what the heck I was doing. I explained it to him and I think he was totally relieved that I wasn't gonna kill or rob him or something. He mentioned things had been happening in the neighborhoods around him lately with the Pacers players, but I had no idea what he was talking about. He even gave me a little souvenir for being a fan. If you ever see this, thanks being cool Scott! |
Reggie Miller's House:
Reggie Miller's Home (former):
Peyton Manning's Home:
Joseph Addai's Home:
Jamaal Tinsley's Home:
George McGinnis' Home:
Dan Wheldon's Home (former):
Antonio Davis' Home (former):
| | Antonio had already moved out of this house by the time I got there to take this picture. The gate was open and I was tempted to drive in, but it looked like some workers were back there, so I didn't. I didn't hang around here for too long because it was a private lane and I didn't want to get arrested. So, I snapped a quicky (which doesn't show very much) and got the heck out of there. |
Adam Vinatieri's Home:
| | I thought this was one of (or the) coolest home on my short Indy celeb home tour back in July of 2007. |
Danny Granger's Home (former):
Clingman's Dome:
| | These photos were taken on May 2nd, 2008. It was an absolutely beautiful day for the 0.5 mile steep climb to the Clingman's Dome observation tower. |

Waylon Jennings' House (former):
George Jones' House (former):
| | Back in 2006, I was out driving around Nashville looking at celebrity real estate. After going by Kix Brooks' house on Harpeth Ridge Drive, we ended up coming down Heathrow Blvd. and got stopped at this home behind a Gray Line "Homes of the Stars" tour bus. Since then, I had always wondered who lived there. When I was younger, my parents had taken me on the Gray Line tour and they purchased a book they sold with some photos of the homes on the tour. Once I dug that out of a drawer, it looked a lot like what appeared to be a former home of country music legend George Jones. Upon returning to Nashville on May 1st, 2008 (with the old Gray Line tour book in hand), I was finally able to confirm that this was the former mansion of the "Possum". I do not know the years he lived here. Williamson County records only go back until about the late 90's (at the time of this post) and I don't see his name or a trustee anywhere on record, so it was sometime before 1998, but that is all I know. It was sad to see that it had been ravaged by fire and the lawn was all grown up when I drove by and took the photo. |
Jack White's House:
| | Franklin Pike is very busy, but I got stopped at a red light right in front of Jack's house and snapped this "not so great" photo of his main gate and the mansion in the distance behind it. |
Alan Jackson's House:
| | This is the main gate of the country music star's home he calls "Sweetbriar". You can see the large mansion back in the distance. I took this photo as I drove down Moran Road on May 1st, 2008. |
Space Needle:
| | Taken on May 2nd, 2008 from a roadside stop in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park looking down over Gatlinburg. |
