Military Wednesday – WWII U-Boat Submarine Pens

A submarine pen (U-Bootbunkerwerft in German) is a bunker to protect moored submarines from air attack.

The name is generally applied to submarine bases constructed during World War II particularly in Germany and the German occupied countries which were also known as U-boat pens (U-Bootbunkerwerft in German).
