Updated Yahoo Maps

Search Engine Land was the first to notice that Yahoo maps just got a face lift. Yahoo Maps has been in the game for quite a while, but they haven’t been getting as much attention to their satellite offerings as Google and Microsoft have. They’re #2 for general mapping (behind MapQuest), with Google and Microsoft hot on their heels.

I don’t want to copy what SEL wrote, so you can read the full list of improvements here. However, some notable additions include:

  • Terrain overlays
  • View areas by neighborhood, and building ‘footprints’ in select cities
  • Updated printing support to make directions easier to read
  • Driving directions for 34 European cities

Check Yahoo’s new features out. Not a lot of updates in terms of satellite offerings, but their interface is pretty hot. It feels very clean, and there are noticeable improvements all around.
