The Red House Cone is a 90 foot (27 meter) high, conical, brick structure used for the production of glass. The cone was completed in 1794 by the Stuart Crystal firm and continued to produce glass until 1936. Today, the Red House Cone is a historical structure in the United Kingdom, (Grade II listed) and is maintained as a museum. The cone is one of four complete cones remaining in the UK.

Sometra Copșa Mică was a Romanian company producing lead, zinc and other non-ferrous metals. The company was one of the most polluting companies in Europe and Copșa Mică was considered the most polluted town in Romania as well as in Europe.
The factory was shut down in 2008 and totally dismantled and erased according to the current satellite image.
The 250 m tall smokestack was built only in 1988 so it was only used for 20 years.

Chenoa is a city in McLean County, Illinois. The city is located at an intersections of Historic Route 66. Founded in 1854 by Mathew T. Scott, Chenoa was created to provide a retail and trade center for his farm tenants as well as a grain shipping facility. The Chenoa Centennial was celebrated in 1954. The town is situated in a highly productive agricultural area. The town school system closed at the end of the 2004 school year, consolidating with the nearby Prairie Central school district.

A massive fire struck a grain elevator in Hawley on Sunday, 25 Februaryn 2024, causing a complete collapse.

Hawley is a town in Clay County, Minnesota, United States. The town went through six quick name changes after 1871 until, in 1872, it was finally named after Thomas Hawley Canfield, an officer in the Northern Pacific Railway, which laid out the town. Hawley was at one time settled by a colony of immigrants from Yeovil, Somerset; among these was Elisabeth Chant, later a painter in Minneapolis.

19th century marks the beginning of industrial breweries being established in Kaunas. One of these was a brewery of Swiss citizens Max and Henrietta Blumental. In 1940 the company was nationalized. Still operating as an independent company after the war, in 1959 the brewery Ragutis was merged with another Kaunas brewery Raudonoji Pasvaiste into one Kaunas Beer and Non-Alcoholic Beverage enterprise Ragutis. At the beginning of the 1990s, the former brewery Ragutis split up from the merger and was called Zalsvytis, which comes from the name of “zalsviai” sort of peas, back then used in the beer production. In 2001 the name of the brewery was changed to AB Kauno alus.

Burns Harbor Steel Mill

Burns Harbor is the easternmost of the three large steel mills on the shore of Lake Michigan. This was the last large integrated steel plant to be made in the United States, built from scratch by Bethlehem Steel in 1964. It has the capacity to produce around 5 million tons of raw steel per year. Principal products made at this location are hot-rolled, cold-rolled and hot-dip galvanized products. The Burns Harbor site is currently owned by conglomerate Cleveland-Cliffs. In 2020, there was an explosion in one of the blast furnaces.

Cigar Lake mine (uranium)

This mine is located within the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan. This area supplies 20% of the world's high-grade uranium. The deposit sits at 450 meters (1,480 ft) below the surface. Uranium was discovered here in 1981, but ore production only began in 2014 after some water inflow issues. Most if not all mined uranium is used to power nuclear power plants.

The mine is owned primarily by Cameco Corporation. There are four other minority owners.
