Circo de los Muchachos was the first circus school in Spain, founded by Father Jesús Silva Méndez in 1963. It was installed in an estate called Benposta, also known as La Ciudad de los Muchachos. The priest took in boys and girls from all over the world who were orphans or had family problems and gave them housing and work in the circus. There was also a school where they learned image and sound.
In the times of repression they had their democratic elections.
In the 70's and 80's of the 21st century they were observed because there was delinquency.
Now it is a sad shadow of its former self.

The Alaviyan Dome (Persian: گنبد علویان) is a 12th century mausoleum in Hamadan, Iran. A green colored dome once decorated the top of the building, as the poet Khaqani refers to the building as "the green dome", but has been destroyed by the passing of time.

It was listed among the Iranian national heritage sites with the # 94 on 1/6/1932.

The Great Hall entrance foyer dome is a large dome above the entrance foyer of the Great Hall of the Aston Webb Building at the University of Birmingham.

The Great Hall is part of the Aston Webb building designed by the architects Sir Aston Webb and E Ingress Bell at the heart of the university’s Edgbaston campus. The Great Hall was the setting for the official opening of the Edgbaston campus performed by King Edward VII in 1909.

Externally the dome is constructed from iron plates which are riveted together. The plates are supported by timber boards on a timber frame which was assemble at ground level and lifted into position. All the domes of the Aston Webb Building were constructed in the same way.

From inside the foyer the dome appears as a large saucer-shaped dome featuring an attractive yet deceptively simple plaster panelled design. This has gently curved ribs radiating at an oblique angle from its centre and overlapping one another. The ribs are painted white and the panels are painted blue.

The building was commissioned by Charles F. Willoughby's Boston Cyclorama Company to house the Cyclorama of the Battle of Gettysburg, a 400-by-50 foot cyclorama painting of the Battle of Gettysburg. It was designed by Charles A. Cummings and Willard T. Sears. The central space is a 127'-diameter steel-trussed dome which, when it was built, was the largest dome in the country after the United States Capitol building.

R. Buckminster Fuller was a visionary who came up with the idea of the geodesic dome, or "autonomous dwelling unit." He was convinced it would become the Home of the Future. He built his first dome in 1949, and erected this one -- a 40-footer -- in 1960, then lived in it while he taught and lectured at Carbondale's Southern Illinois University. Bucky fans regard it as the most important dome in the U.S.

Geodesic domes were popular with techno-hippies. Big ones were used as the U.S. pavilion at Expo '67 in Montreal, and as "Spaceship Earth" at Epcot. But despite Bucky's personal charisma, geodesic dome homes never caught on, and in fact have remained so uncommon that this one is a tourist attraction.

It is home to the Northern Michigan Wildcats football team, as well as a variety of campus and community events. A nickname is the Yooper Dome.

The Dome stands 14 stories high and encompasses 5.1 acres (21,000 m²) under its roof. Constructed as a geodesic dome with 781 Douglas Fir Beams and 108.5 miles (175 km) of fir decking, the Dome has a permanent seating capacity of 8,000, though the building can hold as many as 16,000 people. The facility features a diameter of 163.4 m (536 feet), and has the ability to withstand 60 pounds force per square foot (2.87 kPa) of snow and 80 mile per hour (130 km/h) winds. These features are critical due to the extreme, unpredictable winter weather in Marquette, due to its location on the southern shore of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Global Vipassana Pagoda is a notable monument in Mumbai, India. The pagoda is to serve as a monument of peace and harmony. This monument was inaugurated by Pratibha Patil, the President of India on February 8, 2009. It is located in the north of Mumbai in an area called Gorai and is built on donated land on a peninsula between Gorai creek and the Arabian Sea. The Global Vipassana Pagoda is built out of gratitude to the Buddha, his teaching and the community of monks practicing his teaching. Its traditional Burmese design is an expression of gratitude towards the country of Myanmar for preserving the practice of Vipassana. The shape of the pagoda is a copy of the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar. It is being built combining ancient Indian and modern technology to enable it to last for a thousand years.

The Treasury of Atreus or Tomb of Agamemnon is an impressive "tholos" tomb at Mycenae, Greece (on the Panagitsa Hill) constructed around 1250 BCE. The lintel stone above the doorway weighs 120 tons. The tomb was used for an unknown period of time. Mentioned by Pausanias, it was still visible in 1879 when the archeologist German Heinrich Schliemann discovered the shaft graves under the 'agora' in the Acropolis at Mycenae.

The tomb perhaps held the remains of the sovereign who completed the reconstruction of the fortress or one of his successors. The grave is in the style of the other tholoi of the Mycenaean World, of which there are nine in total around the citadel of Mycenae and five more in the Argolid. However, in its monumental shape and grandeur it is one of the most impressive monuments surviving from Mycenaean Greece.

The Bloedel Floral Conservatory in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is a conservatory and aviary located at the top of Queen Elizabeth Park. Located 500 feet (150 m) above sea level, the conservatory itself is 140 feet (43 m) in diameter, 70 feet (21 m) high. The triodetic dome (related to a geodesic dome) consists of 1,490 acrylic glass bubbles and is illuminated at night. Over 100 birds of various species reside within the dome and are allowed to fly free. The Bloedel Floral Conservatory is a lush tropical experience representative of about 500 species and varieties of plants from deep jungle to desert clime -- all housed within the dome.

The conservatory opened in 1969 and was constructed through a donation from Prentice Bloedel. That same donation was used to cover the water reservoir on top of Queen Elizabeth Park and to provide covered walkways, lighted fountains and art work.

The conservatory is home to Bougainvilleas and Browallias, citrus and coffee trees, Eucalypti and epiphytes, Euphorbia and various figs, Gardenia and Hibiscus. Magnolia trees share space with delicate lilies, yucca with pteris (ferns).

In 1932, French Indochina annexed the islands and set up a weather station on Pattle Island; maintenance was continued by its successor, Vietnam.

Dome Village is a self-governing community of "people unable or [...] unwilling to live in traditional [homeless] shelters". Located in Downtown Los Angeles, the complex consists of 20 geodesic domes and is inhabited by "up to 34 individuals and their family members". Operated by Justiceville/Homeless USA, a non-profit organization, members of Dome Village are politically active in homelessness, nonviolence, and environmental issues.

Prior to becoming the Dome Village, the site was a shantytown inhabited by the homeless. In 1993, the village was founded by activist Ted Hayes. The village setting is intended to create stability for residents who live an otherwise-precarious existence.

The dwellings were designed by architect Craig Chamberlain, a former student of Buckminster Fuller. The domes, which cost about $10,000 each and are easy to repair and maintain, are made of polyester fiberglass. Funding for the village provided by Arco, a subsidiary of British Petroleum.

In late 2005, the inhabitants of Dome Village were threatened with eviction as the result of an increase to the property's rent. The owner of the property, Milton Sidley, was quoted as saying that he, a Democrat, was "was tired of helping Ted and the Dome Village." The announcement about the increase came shortly after a Los Angles Times article about an address Hayes delivered to the Bel-Air Republican Women's Club.

According to Hayes, "When I founded the Dome Village 12 years ago, we had an understanding that he could ask for his property back at any time for any reason, and I would say "absolutely" without hesitation." Accordingly he has "no intention of causing any trouble for this property owner", and "will not go to court". However, he admitted that he "cannot help but be saddened by the whole business. ...his reason was prejudice against Republicans."

On August 31, 2006, Hayes announced that the the residents of Dome Village were being evicted and that domes would be auctioned off online. Residents, who must be out by October 2006, will live in traditional homeless shelters. They hope to recreate Dome Village elsewhere in Los Angeles with the proceeds from the auction.

Trimingham is home to RAF Trimingham, a remote air defence radar station. In November 2006, the The Ministry of Defence admitted that the Type 93 radar spinning inside the dome had been out of alignment between November 2005 and February 2006, causing car engines and lights to cut out, and speedometer dials swung up to 150mph as motorists drove past. Having previously denied problems, the MoD said it will consider claims for compensation after an inquiry found the radar was "out of alignment". A local garage owner who runs the nearest garage at Mundesley, said he dealt with 30 calls over a couple of months.

The Meteor City Trading Post is a souvenir shop on old Route 66. It opened in 1938. The building was replaced with this dome in 1979. There are also six teepees on the property. Meteor City , once known as Indian City, also has bragging rights to the world's longest map of Route 66 (100' long). The dome had been subject to several fires over the years and the map was covered with billboard advertising. The building, map, and teepees were restored in 2002 through the Hampton Inn Save-A-Landmark program. Meteor Crater, a popular tourist destination, is about six miles away.

St.Michael's Golden-domed Cathedral

St. Michael's is at the top of the funicular and also a short walk from St. Andrew's. Originally built by Prince Sviatopolk in 1108, this cathedral was destroyed by the Soviet regime in the mid-1930s in keeping with their anti-religion programme. Its reconstruction was championed by ambitious Kyiv mayor Oleksander Omelchenko and completed in May 2000. The sky blue exterior and glittering golden domes are certainly stunning, even though up close it all seems a bit too new and shiny for this ancient city. Another reminder, albeit a much smaller one, of the Communists' inhuman policies is to the right as you exit the church grounds. This monument to the millions of Ukrainian victims of the Great Famine mentions only the years it took place: 1932-1933. Farther out in the square, the statues of Princess Olha, Apostle Andriy, St. Cyrill and St. Methodius were also reconstructed in 1996.

The FGAN Research Institute for High Frequency Physics and Radar Techniques (FHR) is located on the southern boundary of North Rhine-Westphalia, on the slopes of the Wachtberg near Bonn. Its conspicuous characteristic is the "Kugel" (ball), the world´s largest radome with a diameter of 49 metres, which houses the space observation radar TIRA (tracking and imaging radar).
