Although Homolovi State Park protects Hopi lands and cultural artifacts, the park also contains a small cemetery from a group of 19th century Mormon settlers who founded the city of Sunset. The Sunset Cemetery is also known as the LDS Pioneer Cemetery, and Mormon Pioneer Cemetery.

The Snowflake Arizona Temple is the 108th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was constructed from 2000 to 2002. The temple is the second in Arizona. Mormon pioneers first settled Snowflake, Arizona in 1878 at the request of LDS Church president Brigham Young. The town of Snowflake was named after William J. Flake and Erastus Snow, two of the church's early leaders who helped supervise colonization of the area.

At least two people have been killed and nine others wounded after a gunman drove a vehicle into a church in Michigan and opened fire, police say.

Officials said the attack on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, a town 60 miles (100km) northwest of Detroit, happened during a Sunday service that attracts hundreds of people.

The suspect, identified by police as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford from nearby Burton, Michigan, allegedly also set part of the building on fire which has since been contained. Officials warned they may discover additional victims inside.

The alleged shooter was shot dead by police. Authorities said there was no ongoing threat to the public.

The Kansas City Missouri Temple is the 137th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The intent to build the temple was announced on October 4, 2008, by church president Thomas S. Monson during general conference. A groundbreaking ceremony, to signify beginning of construction, was held on May 8, 2010, conducted by Ronald A. Rasband. It is the first to be built in the Kansas City metropolitan area, and the second in Missouri, after the St. Louis Missouri Temple. The temple is 32,000 square feet (3,000 m2) and is on an 8.05 acres (3.26 ha) site.

It has a two-spire design, similar to temples in Logan, Manti, Rome, and Philadelphia. This temple was designed by FFKR Architects and uses an olive branch motif, along with art glass.[5]

The Manti Utah Temple (formerly the Manti Temple) is the fifth constructed temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons). Located in the city of Manti, Utah, it was the third LDS temple built west of the Mississippi River after the Mormons' great trek westward. (The St. George and Logan Utah temples preceded it.) The Manti Utah Temple was designed by William Harrison Folsom, who moved to Manti while the temple was under construction. The temple dominates the Sanpete Valley, and can be seen from many miles. Like all LDS temples, only church members in good standing may enter. It is one of only two remaining LDS temples in the world where live actors are used in the endowment ceremonies (the other is the Salt Lake Temple); all other temples use films in their rituals.

This church was built as a Congregational Church in 1879, at what is now 150 Main Street but was sold to the Presbyterian Church in 1894. They continued to use it until 1925, when they joined the Methodists to form the United Church, and moved down the street. In later years it became the local Veterans’ Hall. Its steeple is engraved with the names of the local veterans of World War Two. The church, which was built in the aptly named Picturesque style, is believed to have been designed by a young (24 year old) Edward James Lennox, who later became one of Toronto’s best known architects.

"Less than a year after St. George was settled, residents were directed by Brigham Young to "build a building as soon as possible which would be commodious, substantial and well furnished with a seating capacity of 2,000." The building, he said, should be a "ornament" to the city and a credit to its people's "energy and enterprise." The result is the handsome and graceful red sandstone building one block south of here known as the St. George Tabernacle. The cornerstones of the Tabernacle were set in June of 1863. Parts of the structure were completed and the first meeting was held in the basement in March of 1869, but the building was not fully completed and dedicated until May of 1876. During those 13 long years of construction the workers, most of whom had not yet built suitable homes for themselves, received foodstuff as compensation. The limestone for the three-foot thick basement walls was hand-quarried from the foothills north of the city. Red sandstone boulders for the two-and-one-half foot walls were hand-quarried from a site near the Red Hills Golf Course and then hand-cut into serviceable stones. The markings of the individual stone masons' tools are still evident upon close inspection. The building's wonderful interior plaster and woodwork illustrate the pride and dedication to excellence that existed among the founders of Dixie. Currency was hard to come by in the hardscrabble lives of the settlers. Raising cash for such items as the building's 2,244 panes of glass required great sacrifice. The Tabernacle's bell was cast in Troy, New York in 1872 and the clock was made in London. Both were shipped to California, then hauled by team and wagon to St. George. The Tabernacle, considered to be one of the most architecturally beautiful buildings in the West was and continues to be a "ornament" to the city. The fact that it was completed at the same time as the Temple and courthouse were under construction is certainly a tribute to the "energy and enterprise" of Dixie's pioneers."

The Copenhagen Denmark Temple is the 118th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Copenhagen Denmark Temple is one of the few temples that have been converted from existing buildings.

The building of the temple in Denmark was announced on March 17, 1999. On April 24, 1999 the site for the temple in Frederiksberg was dedicated and a groundbreaking ceremony was held. About 700 Mormon members from the area attended the ceremony.
