Internationally highlighted as the Zagreb Brutalist Skyscrapers, these "Brutalist" extravaganzas in Zagreb, Croatia, are iconic of the architectural style. The three towers are named after Vjenceslav Richter, the lead architect on this 1960s project. Known as the “Rockets” or Richter Towers, they are undergoing a major restoration.

The Foshay Tower, is a skyscraper in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Modeled after the Washington Monument, the building was completed in 1929, months before the stock market crash in October of that year. It has 32 floors and stands 136 m high, which made it one of the tallest buildings in the Midwest for 48 years. The antenna mast extends the total height of the structure to 185 m. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and is an example of Art Deco architecture.

The Attenborough Building is the tallest building on the campus of the University of Leicester, and houses arts and humanities departments. It was designed by Arup Associates and constructed between 1968 and 1970. The university's development plan at the time called for two other similar towers, but these were never built. The building was named after Frederick Attenborough, who was principal of the then University College from 1932 until 1951, and father of Richard and David Attenborough. Due to its physical apperence, it is known as the "cheese grater".

ICE Condominiums is a high-rise residential complex in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The development consists of two condominiums completed in 2014 and 2015. With 67 stories above ground and a height of 234.2 meters, the buildings are the 10th tallest in Toronto. The building is home to numerous short-term rentals and units available on Airbnb, which was given exclusive hosting rights. The condominiums have been described as a "ghost hotel"

The interesting structures seen on the roofs of both towers serve a practical purpose of mitigating tower sway due to winds.

The Inland Steel Building is a 332-foot-tall skyscraper at 30 West Monroe Street in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Constructed from 1956 to 1958, the building was designed by Bruce Graham and Walter Netsch of the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in the International Style. It was originally the headquarters of the Inland Steel Company and was one of the first skyscrapers to be built in the Chicago Loop since World War II. The Inland Steel Building is designated a Chicago Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

A massive fire engulfed Zagreb’s iconic Vjesnik tower on November 17, 2025, severely damaging the 16-story structure but causing no injuries. Named after a former newspaper housed there until 2013, the nearly vacant building caught fire near its top floors and quickly spread downward, hindering access for about 100 firefighters. By midday Tuesday, the blaze was largely extinguished, though parts of the structure continued to smolder.

The Wilton Paes de Almeida Building was a high-rise building in São Paulo that was built during the 1960s to be the headquarters of Almeida de Paes, an importer of Belgian glass. It was designed by architect Roger Zmekhol, a Syrian immigrant. The 26-story “Pele de Vidro,” or “Glass Skin,” was one of São Paulo’s early glass-fronted modern skyscrapers. It was the headquarters of the Federal Police in São Paulo from the 1980s until 2003 after which it was taken over by squatters and the homeless. It caught fire and collapsed on 1 May 2018, causing at least 7 fatalities.
With the title of "Pele de Vidro", a documentary film about the building and its history was made in 2023 by the designer’s daughter, Denise Zmekhol, who was only fourteen when her father died.
