Uruguayan UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Uruguay accepted the UNESCO World Heritage Convention on 3/9/1989, making its historical sites eligible for inclusion on the list. There are three World Heritage Sites in Uruguay, and a further six on the tentative list. The first site listed was the Historic Quarter of the City of Colonia del Sacramento, at the 19th session of the World Heritage Committee, held in Berlin, Germany, in 1995. The most recent site listed was the work of engineer Eladio Dieste: Church of Atlántida, in 2021. All three sites are listed for their cultural significance.
