In my files I uploaded in former Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach you have changed my categories.

Why?????

Why not notice before doing it.

Those you chose are rediculous.

Flags seems appropriate. What else did you have before?

But it's a flag. So I chose Building - Flag.

Here I had No longer there. I chose that because it's not there anymore.
That's gone. The guitar was taken down when when HRP closed.

Here I chose Entertainment - Misc too

It was a stage for performing music etc.

Hi Dania,

I changed your categories mainly because some of the categories you selected were for Street View and these are BEV maps. Also, I have always thought the No Longer There category is for things shown in the thumbnails but not in the map service imagery. Maybe I'm wrong about that. I have restored the categories you mentioned.

No Longer There means that the imagery has changed since the thumbnail was made. That way we can keep old posts in the database but mark them as not available to be seen anymore. At first this seems like a way of filling the database with worthless submissions however... When we first started this we were almost exclusively doing Google Maps posts. We debated keeping the No Longer There posts in the database and eventually decided to. Much later Google Earth added the historical imagery feature and now all those old GM No Longer There posts are visible again. I have every bit of confidence that someday Bing and Street View historical imagery will be available.

Maybe you should have the category for Things no longer there because of new owners, damage etc. as it is under events.

Then add new categories by itself:

Finds - No longer there
